It's like The Wolves of Willoughby Chase and Jane Eyre rolled into one, with a dash of Lemony Snicket's sensibilities. It also brought to mind an old Gothic I loved, On the Night of the Seventh Moon by Victoria Holt. I can't believe I have to wait until next month 2011 to read the next adventures of the Incorrigibles!

P.S. I tweetedAngelica R. Um... ...Whoops! 150 :) I couldn't seem to stop! Um... I can either write a new/different one, or you can judge it on only 100 words. You'll miss out on the third paragraph, but the first two are pretty exciting anyway...Kerihttp://writeturnhere.blogspot.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2715957141322738647.post-9113993779769415192011-02-24T00:18:07.509-05:002011-02-24T00:18:07.509-05:00Dead Like Me: Georgia Lass (Ellen Muth) is an aver...Dead Like Me: Georgia Lass (Ellen Muth) is an average, everyday, uninspired, 18 yo, until the day she's killed by a flaming toilet seat that falls from a Russian space station. Turns out? She was slated to die and her name came up on the list to become a Reaper.

Georgia doesn't actually wear a black cloak or carry a scythe, but she's joined by a great cast including her boss Rube Sofer (Mandy Pantinkin) who is worth the watch regardless of plot/anything else.

The dynamic between Rube and Georgia keeps the ball rolling as she breaks all the rules, and he tries to make her toe the line. Everybody's alive today, but who knows when the next post-it will show up (this is how they receive their assignments). Dead Like Me is possibly one of the best TV shows to have ever been canceled...and after only two seasons. *Sigh* So, go watch it!

Posting the link! The MC, Evie, is quirky and beautiful--inside and out--and I was completely drawn into her story. Lend and Reth, the love interests, are both multifaceted and interesting. The issues and challenges confronted by Evie and her friends really make you think, and the stakes are high and portrayed with stunning, evocative realism. I was also impressed by the way the characters handled their budding romance--it was so refreshing to read a book in which teen love doesn't lead to inappropriate behavior and immorality.

I'll go post a link in my sidebar right now. :)Jesshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16496310224885631202noreply@blogger.com
